Golden Nuggets
“Last year was my first year of retirement and I did everything. I was running off my feet. I think I was scared of having all this extra time to fill.”
Lorraine Friedrick
Very pleased to have Unison News (formerly Kerby News) of Calgary carrying several Golden Nuggets features in their monthly newspaper and online!
Charlie Stuart... a young girl with an old soul
Charlie is quite a bit younger than every other Golden Nugget I have profiled! But she’s my neighbour and friend, and she’s a golden kid. I wonder, like I’m sure many of us, how a parent is supposed to be successful at building a great, caring and kind human these days!
Well, I’ve watched this family of three care for and rescue animals, spend lots of time together, help their neighbours and light up the whole lane with their extensive outdoor Christmas display! When Charlie was a toddler, she would join Myranda and David on a trash walk. Each of them carried a bag and a dollar store trash picker-upper tool as they strolled the street, sometimes finding little treasures but mostly cleaning up other people’s litter.
Here’s a little glimpse at some of their other endeavours – which all add up to create a lovely young girl…
