So I’ve been setting small challenges for myself and reflecting (very casually) on my lifepath, in the lead-up to my 65th birthday in March. I figured it was time to ask a psychic for their comments on my life thus far!
I’ve been to a psychic a few times over the years, approaching the interaction with a lighthearted interest and a big grain of salt. I was a teenager in Calgary the first time I went but ended up spending too much time with my friends at lunch, so was trying to find a payphone to let the psychic know I’d be late. My friends figured if she was truly intuitive, surely she would already have divined that information. True, that!
Figuring skepticism and humour are the best combo to arrive with at my recent appointment, I was taken aback to find the psychic quite animated upon my arrival. She had been setting out several piles of different cards for our reading, and two cards from one particular deck had stuck themselves to the top of another. Not something she has seen happen, so was wondering if the two cards had meaning for me on that particular day. Not to divulge too much personal information here, but the two cards were Teacher and Change in Lifestyle. This appointment took place 40 years to the day I had gotten married to a teacher, which led to leaving Calgary behind.
Hmmm, this one might be tricky, I thought! She reassured me that all my decisions were the right ones, including the ones that took me further from the path that I thought I was supposed to be on. She said the big choices I made were learning opportunities for me and not just for me, but teaching moments for others around me. She said all my loved ones who have passed are altogether and that they are having great fun! Thinking of my Irish parents and fun-loving aunts and uncles, that makes perfect sense. She also said they were working hard and learning, because some of them were preparing to return. Now THAT’s information that will have us doing a double take when new but familiar people cross our paths from here on in.
There you have it. Perhaps it is standard information that is general enough to be sufficient for a paying customer. Or perhaps it is profound insight. It was an hour-long session, so of course there was a lot more information – a lot of which seemed pretty relevant. It was interesting to throw someone else’s insight into the mix, and at least she didn’t scream at me to get to the doctor. She saw lots of love and feelings of pride.
Oh, and I’ll be going on a trip. And maybe I will win something. Someday.
